    Hometown
It's just another town another day, And this is just another place to play. And I didn't come here to stay, I came here to get away. It's so funny, so funny to me, Cause everybody wants to be free, Yet so many stand still like trees, Put roots in the ground, With their family all around, Buy a house and a hound and settle down, In their hometown. My uncle once told me, “Kid, the apple doesn't fall far from the tree.” If you know your history, What he meant was my daddy was a lot like me. And I wonder what he thinks of me, If he's proud of who I chose to be. If he regrets giving up his dreams, To raise his family. It's so funny so funny to me, Cause I am like my daddy. I'm strong and tall like a tree. He put his roots in the ground, With his family all around, Built a house, bought a hound and settled down, In his hometown. So if you say that you gotta go, My advice to you is go. But I'll tell you as for me, There ain't no place I'd rather be. It's so funny so funny to me, Cause I always thought I'd leave. Yet here I stand like a tree, I got my roots in th ground, Got my family all around, I'm thinking about a house, maybe a hound and maybe settling down, In my hometown.

    Old Man's Brokenhearted Blues
I once was young and handsome too, But now I'm old and oh so blue. I once was happy when I had you, But now I've got the old mans broken hearted blues. I was just a kid, you was just a babe, I promised you I'd always stay. We made big plans for our wedding day, But just like that you went away. I didn't try to reprimand, No I just cried, cause you found a new man. And he's so old he could be your dad. I admit, I don't understand. I'm a little tired, a little older too. My hair is grayer, my eyes aren't so blue. And I was just wondering if there's anything that I could do, That would make me old, old enough for you. I once was young and handsome too, But now I'm old and oh so blue. I once was happy when I had you, But now I've got the old mans broken hearted blues.

    Seaside Waltz
Giggles and kisses, sunshine daydream, a summer love romance Dandelions and daisy's and randoms and crazies a waltz for us to dance. Wookies and cookies and Phishies and kitties all gather round to see, The curly haired girl and the blue eyed boy who are waltzing to the sounds of the sea. Singing: “La la la la la la la la, la la la la la la.” Tulips and roses, and scarlet begonias, violets and all that's fine. There in the flowers we dance for hours with your two lips pressed up to mine. The people all smile as they stop for a while and they wish that they could be Like the blue eyed boy and the curly haired girl who are waltzing to the sounds of the sea. Singing: “La la la la la la la la, la la la la la la.”

    Bicycle Song
There something between your legs, that I want to ride, Climb on top or on back, lets go outside Remember to take it slow keep it in low gear. If I can't keep up I'll meet you back here I wanna ride your bicycle. So pretty and red, so shiny and new Oh and all the things I wanna do with you I wanna put my cards in your spokes I wanna ride across the land and meet the country folks Theres a bicycle that no one can see A pretty bicycle you only show to me I can't hide, I wanna be inside the beautiful world where that bicycle rides

    Who Cares?
There's a whole lot of people trying to tell me whats right And they could go on for days with no end in sight But there's two side to the story so I just let 'em fight. And I try my best to listen all day, If attention is the currency it's the only way I can pay, But it's so hard to listen to folks who aint got nothing to say, Yet it's amazing how they seem to be able to talk all day. Cause he says you're right, and she says you're wrong, And they're both looking at me cause I'm the one singing the songs today I'd be alright just sittin in the back, pickin this guitar and wearin black, But if you really wanna know, Jack, what I have to say. . . Well then listen up. . . Am I the only one who cares? Here's some facts that I learned from the news, The world is full of violence, repression and abuse, And there's drug dealers and crack heads and whores on the loose. And the pill poppers are everywhere. These days there's a pill for this and a pill for that, This one'll make you skinny and that one'll make you fat, And most folks take so many they can't keep track. Most folks don't care. They blindly follow the orders that the doctors give, Because they went to med school so they should know how to live, But don't forget, a doctors education is in medication. So here I am spending my wages On experimental medication that has not been tested by the ages, And yet all I seem to have is more and more ills. . . And more and more bills. . . And more and more pills. . . And I'm starting to wonder. . . Am I the only one who cares? When's the last time you spent the whole day outside No watch no cell phone nothing to tell you what time Just you, the breeze, the leaves, the trees and the glory all around. When's the last time you listened to the breeze, Or watched the sun set slowly through the trees Or took a walk in the park just to look at the leaves on the ground When's the last time you watched the sun set, Then stayed up again to watch the sunrise? Don't you wonder what thats like sometimes? When's the last time you walked around barefoot outside? Don't you think that's important? I'm so confused and it's hard to understand, But I'm just trying to be honest, and be a hard working man, Because I want to be healthy and live as long as I can. Don't you? Don't you?

    Second Chance
With Tabs!: C I've got a notebook and a pen, Am A bottle of whiskey and a bottle of gin, G And a second chance to screw it up again If I'da just used my cellular phone Then I wouldn't be alone And maybe you'd let me come back home F C Take my hand Don't let me go Am G Let me know That you're my best friend C Am And if you do I promise you F G C I will never let go again You said you couldn't go to bed Cause you were worried I was dead And I'll admit that I was in over my head Well it may be hard to believe But this is not how I want to be I want to be what I see when I see you look at me Chorus I think I've finally realized That it's not what's between your thighs It's the loving look I only see when I look in your eyes So let me apologize for all of my previous lies And I promise tonight that I'll be home before sunrise Chorus x 2

    Over My Land
I'm gonna build me a house on top of the hill so I can look out over my land. . . Over my land, over my land, I'm gonna look out over my land. I'm gonna fly my flag on top of the hill so it will wave out over my land. . . Over my land, over my land, I'm gonna fly that flag over my land. Over my land, over my land, I'm gonna look out over my land I'm gonna plant me a garden on top of the hill so it will spread the seeds over my land. . . Over my land, over my land, I'm gonna spread the seeds over my land. Over my land, over my land, I'm gonna fly my flag. Over my land, over my land, I'm gonna look out over my land I'm gonna sing me a song on top of the hill so it will ring out over my land. . . Over my land, over my land, I'm gonna sing that song over my land Over my land, over my land, I'm gonna spread the seeds Over my land, over my land, I'm gonna fly my flag Over my land, over my land, I'm gonna look out over my land This land is your land, this land is my land, From California to the New York island, From the Redwood Forrest, to the Gulf Stream waters, This land was made for you and me Over my land, over my land, I'm gonna sing that song over my land Over my land, over my land, I'm gonna spread the seeds Over my land, over my land, I'm gonna fly my flag Over my land, over my land, I'm gonna look out over my land

    Worries of the Wandering Traveler
There's a wind that calls my name, And when she beckons I must go. For I'm the wandering traveler, And I'm searching for my home. And when the sirens sings she whispers in my ear, I rise up and I follow the path that she makes clear, And when I finally find her, her songs I'll sing sincere, And I go when she cries. . . Into the sky. I thought that you should know, These things of who I am; The worries of the wanderer, Of the roaming ramblin man. I've seen the sky of blue and I've seen the ocean black, I've been to Devils Den and I'd gladly go back, And everything I need to live it fits inside my backpack, And soon enough I'll ride. . . Into the sky. Now honey understand, I'm not running from you. I know you can't come with me but this is what I've gotta do. You know I'd like to stay but I must be moving on, We haven't had enough time but I've been here far too long. I'll write you letters every day and still I'll sing your songs. Even after a million miles. . . We ride in the same sky.
